I received my creative education from the University of Kansas and studied abroad in Trier, Germany. I’ve interned at different advertising agencies in Kansas City, but ended up in enterprise software here in Austin. I’ve been at IBM for about a year and a half, went through the design bootcamp, and now work solely on the Analytics Platform style guide. I’ve been there since the beginning of the design transformation of the portfolio and learned a lot of how design and development can work together hand in hand. My job is to create a cohesive identity across a portfolio that may consist of a multitude of products.

Creating a Design Guide for Enterprise Software

For the past few months, Analytics Platform has been making a design guide for our subgroup within IBM Design. I'll go over some of the things we learned in the process along with tips on where to start. Of note, our guide isn't just another styleguide, but a mixture of FED components and describing the intent and goals of why aspects exist.
